Pesach (Passover)

Tue 17 March · 14 Nisan
The lamb slain “between the evenings.” A working day, not a Sabbath –the Preparation for what follows.

Unleavened Bread

Wed 18 – Tue 24 March · 15–21 Nisan
Seven days, no leaven. Begins and ends with a High Sabbath (18 & 24 March).

Firstfruits

Sun 22 March · 19 Nisan Always the first day of the week. The wave sheaf presented; the Omer count begins.

Shavuot (Jubilee)

Sun 10 May · 50th Day
Fifty days from Firstfruits, sealed to a Sunday. Torah given at Sinai; the Ruach poured out.

Yom Teruah (Trumpets)

Wed 2 September · 1 Tishrei
High Sabbath. The shofar sounds; the Ten Days of Awe begin.

Yom Kippur (Atonement)

Fri 11 September · 10 Tishrei
The Sabbath of Sabbaths. Afflict the soul — no food, no work, sunset to sunset.

Sukkot (Tabernacles)

Wed 16 September · 15 Tishrei
High Sabbath. Seven days dwelling in booths, remembering the wilderness.

Shemini Atzeret (8th Day)

Wed 23 September · 22 Tishrei
High Sabbath. The final assembly, closing the festival year.
